Denis Valery Ndayishimiye

Denis Valery Ndayishimiye is a Rwandan filmmaker and photographer based in Arles, France, where he is currently completing his Master’s degree at the École Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie (ENSP). A graduate of East African University Rwanda and an alumnus of La Fémis summer school in Paris, his multidisciplinary practice explores themes of identity and resilience through a fusion of cinematic storytelling and contemporary photography.

Ndayishimiye has garnered significant international recognition, notably as a finalist for the 2026 Superstudio Photo Award at the MIA Photo Fair in Milan for his series entitled “Can I come to your place?”. His professional background is equally diverse, encompassing roles in production coordination and cultural mediation, particularly for Les Rencontres d’Arles. Winner of prestigious awards such as a research grant from King’s College London and selection for the Talents Durban program, he continues to exhibit his work across Europe and Africa, establishing himself as an emerging and captivating voice on the global art scene.
